Self-acceptance and big five personality in predicting spiritual quotient of teachers in schools under the secondary education service area office 10 in Samut Sakhon Province
Abstract:
The objectives of this research are 1) to study the levels of self-acceptance, Big Five personality and spiritual quotient of teachers, 2) to study the relationships between self-acceptance and spiritual quotient of teachers, 3) to study the relationships between Big Five personality and spiritual quotient of teachers, and 4) to predict spiritual quotient of teachers with self-acceptance and Big Five personality. The research sample comprised of 309 teachers of schools under the secondary education service area office 10 in Samut Sakhon province. Questionnaires were used for data collection. The statistics employed for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of this research indicated that
1. The levels of self-acceptance, extraversion trait, openness trait, agreeableness trait, conscientiousness trait and spiritual quotient of teachers were high. The level of neuroticism trait of teachers was moderate.
2. There was a positive relationship between self-acceptance and spiritual quotient of teachers at a statistically significant level of .01.
3. Extraversion trait, openness trait, agreeableness trait and conscientiousness trait positively correlated with spiritual quotient of teachers at a statistically significant level of .01. There was a negative relationship between neuroticism trait and spiritual quotient of teachers at a statistically significant level of .01.
4. Four predictors : conscientiousness trait, openness trait, self-acceptance and extraversion trait together could predict 60.00 percent of the variance in spiritual quotient of teachers.
