School Administration by Good Governance of Administrators As Perceived by Teachers under the office of Primary Educational Region in Narathiwat Province
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were (1) to study the level of good governance principle of
the school administrators; (2) to compare school administration by using good governance
principle of the school administrators classified by gender, age, qualifications and administrative
experience of school administrators, the size and affiliated educational service area offices of the
schools; and (3) to examine suggestions on school administration by using good governance
principle of the school administrators as perceived by teachers under the office of primary
educational service area offices in Narathiwat province.
The research samples were 369 teachers using Yamanes method. The employed research
instrument was a questionnaire consisting of three parts with .976 reliability. Statistics used for
data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test and F-test One-way
ANOVA and Scheffes method for pairwise comparison.
Research findings were as follows:
1. The overall level of good governance principle of the school administrators was
found at medium level; but when considering each component individually, the result was found
at high level in 3 components, and at medium level in the other 3 components.
2. The comparison of school administration by using good governance principle of the
school administrators as classified by gender, qualifications and administrative experience, was
found no significant difference in overall; but, when considering the age, it was found that there is
significant difference at .05 level; whereas, when the size and affiliated educational service area
offices of the schools were compared in overall, it was found that there is significant difference
at .01 level.
3. The suggestions can be manipulated, from the most to the least of frequency
respectively, as the following: regarding the rule of law principle, the personnel should be
promoted to act in accordance with the rule of the school strictly; as for the moral principle, the
personnel should be given tasks according to their knowledge and ability; as far as transparency
principle is concern, the personnel should be informed about the school budgeting clearly;
as regard to accountability principle, the personnel should be assigned duties to suit their ability
and expertise; in terms of participation principle, school committee board should be involved and
well aware of school activities; and lastly, cost-effective principle, school budgeting should be
used to meet the school objective.
