Abstract:
This research had objectives in studying behavior of the tourists, studying image of Krabi International airport in the tourist opinion, comparing image of the airport in the tourists opinion according to personal factors and studying relationship between traveling behaviors of the tourists with image of the airport. The study group was 400 Thai and foreign tourists who used Krabi International Airport services. The data were collected by using questionnaires and analyzed by SPSS program to obtain results for percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and Chi-square test.
The result showed that most of the studied subjects were male, between 31-40 years old, married, holding bachelor degree, employee/contractor, with monthly income between 40,001-60,000 Baht, and living in Asia. Most of the tourists had prior experience in using this airport 2-3 times already for international services (including the trip in this study) such as domestic departure by giving the reason of quickness. The traveling companions were family members. The tourists tended to do travel arrangement by themselves. Image of the Krabi airport in tourists opinion, in overall, was at fair level while considering each aspects separately there were five aspects that had fair level as well namely: departure and arrival, ground transportation, security checkpoint/immigration, food and refreshment shops, and convenience in shopping. The comparison of the image in the tourists opinion according to personal factor showed that occupation, different living continent showed significant difference at 0.05 levels. The relationship between touristss traveling behavior and image of the airport in their opinion showed that number of times in using the services, experience in using the services, reason in using the services, traveling companions and the travel arrangement were related with image of the Krabi airport significantly at 0.05 levels.
