Abstract:
The main purposes of this research study were: (1) to investigate quality of work life of the personnel who worked at Wangchan Subdistricts, Wanchan District, Rayong Province; and (2) to study factors that related to their quality of work life.
The population of this study included 121 personnel or staff who worked at Subdistrict Administrative Organizations of Wangchan District in Rayong Provice. The research instrument for data collection was a questionnaire constructed by researchers. Statistical analysis was employed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The results were revealed.
The personnels background information was shown. The mean age of the personnel or staff at work was 31.09 years, the average of educational qualification was Bachelor degree at 49.60%, the average of their income was 8,681.07 baht per month, most of them were temporary employees at 52.90%.
The personnels average opinion towards factors influenced their work performance was high. The high individual factors included colleague relationships, work characteristics, and work climate respectively.
The personnels quality of work life was high, ranged from participation and getting excepted by colleagues, relationship between work and society, healthy work climate and security, respectively.
In addition, the following results were obtained from the comparison of mean scores between the variables.
1. The quality of work life, classified by age, was at a moderate level for those whose average age at 20-25 years, 26-30 years, and above 31 years respectively.
2. The quality of work life, classified by educational qualification, was at a moderate level for those earned the Masters, below Bachelor, and Bachelor degrees respectively.
3. The quality of work life, classified by monthly income, was at a moderate level for those earned 8,001-10,000; 5,000-8,000; and above 10,001 baht respectively.
4. The quality of work life, classified by work functions, was at a moderate level for temporary employees, permanent employees, and subdistrict employees respectively.
5. The quality of work life, classified by work characteristics, of those expressed at a high level toward their work characteristics showed at a high level; while those did at a low level toward their work characteristics showed at a low level.
6. The quality of life, classified by relationship among colleaques, of those expressed at a high level toward relationship among colleaques was higher than those whose opinions at a low level toward relationship among colleagues.
7. The quality of life, classified by work climate, of those expressed at a high level toward work climate was higher than those whose opinions at a low level toward work climate.
