Abstract:
This paper presents a method of axial flow pump design. The system of computation uses a one dimensional approach (forced vortex). The charts and data presented here are based on successful commercial pump design. Since the techniques proposed by the author are well established: it is Relatively easy to obtain a pump with high efficiency. All experimental test was carried out. The results showed that the design method used gave a pump with high efficiency at the design point. Generally, it is concluded that the forced vortex method can give comparable performance with other methods (eg. free vortex)
