Abstract:
The objectives of this thesis are: 1) To study the development of fishing communities in Krabi estuaries and current lifestyle, economies, societies, and physical environment of Klongprasong communities. 2) To analyze the ecosystem of Klongprasong communities in Krabi Estuarine 3) To analyze the social regulation process as well as Islamic culture in utilizing and managing Klongprasongs land resources at Krabi Estuarine. 4) To conclude the community ecosystem, problems and analyze Klongprasong fishing communitys ability to manage area usage in Krabi province. The information of this case study is supported by site survey, observation, community leader interview, governmental record, related literatures, and aerial photographs, also questionnaires are selected by age, occupation, this case study comprise of 3 parts research which are : 1) Community history 2) The development of communities 3) Community area usage and resources is combined by physical characteristics, economies, societies, cultures, community environments. Moreover, the community ecosystem analysis is divided in 2 parts which are 1) The community ecosystem, analyzed by 4 dimensions which consist of resource, technology, waste and pollutant, humanity or community. 2) study the community regulation system and Islamic cultures as well as analyzing problems and communitys ability to manage and utilized its resource. The result from the study shows that there was a dramatic change with communitys ecosystem in Krabi Estuarine, Klongprasong district due to the affect of aquaculture business such as shrimp farms. Due to the deterioration of the community resources (land and water), the community began to recognize the effect this had on the community. Subsequently, the community realized the need to recover existing resources by making the community aware of the current issue and problem by involving conservation authority and other resource management organization. Also,they have awared to conserve their resources within the process of Islamic culture and community believes which could result for long term of conservation.
