Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between physical fitness and intellectual abilities of secondary school student Bangkok Metropolis. The International Committee for Standardization of Physical Fitness, Test and intellectual abilities test from Educational and Psychological Test Bureau were used as the instruments for collecting data from 300 boys and girls of the secondary school level. The obtained data was computed into means, standard deviations and normalized T-Score, and analyzed by One-Way analysis of Variance, Scheffes Multiple Comparison and analyzed by meand of Pearsons Product Moment Coefficient of Correlation. Results: 1. The correlation between physical fitness and intellectual abilities of boys in Maw 1, Maw 2, Maw 3, Maw 4, Maw 5 and M.S. 5 were 0.11, 0.02, 0.14, 0.08, 0.05 and 0.07 respectively and there was no statistical significance at the .01 level. 2. The correlation between physical fitness and intellectual abilities of girls in Maw 1, Maw 2, Maw 3, Maw 4, Maw 5 and M.S. 5 were 0.09, 0.25, 0.16, 0.44, 0.03 and 0.19 respectively and there was no statistical significance at the .01 level 3. The correlation between physical fitness and intellectual abilities of boys and girls were 0.12 and 0.10 respectively and there was no statistical significance at the .01 level.
