Effectiveness of Participation Program for Hmong Hill Tribe on Health Promotion in Ban Khrok Nan Tha, Huairong Subdistrict, Rongkwang District, Phrae Province, Thailand
Abstract:
The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of participation program for Hmong Hill Tribe on health promotion. Qusi-Experimental study was applied to Ban Khrok Nan Tha , Huairong subdistrict, Rongkwang district, Phrae province. Selected 1 village of 8 villages in Huairong subdistrict by simple random sampling. The study sample consisted of 59 people selected by purposive sampling. The experimental group was designed to receive participation program for Hmong Hill Tribe on health promotion, using the concept of participation with application process that A-I-C technique. Instruments consisted of Participation program for Hmong Hill Tribe on health promotion Interview form about perceived benefits and perceived barriers to health promotion. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test. The results of the studied revealed that the average perceived health belief model, health promotion scores of the experimental group after the intervention were significantly higher than before the intervention (p < .001). These results showed that the participation program for Hmong Hill Tribe on health promotion lead to better perceived health belief model, health promotion. Therefore, enhancing the Hmong Hill Tribe to participate in their own health care process, encouraging creativity and on full health participation is one method that can be used for the development of sustainable health
