Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to study of factors of enhancing drawing and painting abilities of visual art talented children aged 9-11 years old into 3 categories 1) Interest and skill 2) Learning and teaching 3) Environment. The research sample of this study were 30 of children aged between 9-11 years old who has visual art talented, group of 29 of parents, and 14 of art teachers. The compose of using equipment in this research study were interview form, observation form and questionnaire Collecting data by using the frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation of statistic analysis. The research findings were found that the factors that can support painting ability age between 9-11 years old were: 1. Interest and skill: The result in this category show that most of children are interested in art as a basic nature and tend to be pay attention in practicing art skill and find out more knowledge from various sources such as book, magazine, art program and art gallery. 2. Learning and teaching: The result from interview children show that most of art teachers always teach student to do art practice after the class, provide books and various type of media that can encourage inspiration and creative thinking, give advice and comment in art work both inside and outside the class. In addition, art teachers always provide equipment and place for students to do art work with freedom and bring students to attend special events and art activities that organized by many institutes. They also bring students art work to public through exhibition. From the answer of art teachers in questionnaire found that teachers always support students by giving advice in art work, helping students when doing art work both inside and outside the class, From over all factors, the article that art teachers always do the most is organize a special project to choose the visual art talented students to promote the abilities to public and bring students to attend special events and art activity that organized by private companies and government. 3. Environment: 1) Environment in family, from the answer of children after interview show that parents always encourage students to do art practice by providing equipment and book that inspire children, giving advice and listening to childrens opinion, moreover parents usually take their children to the source of art or exhibition and bring their children art work to decorate the house. From the answer of parents in questionnaire show that parents always giving compliment in their childrens art work, but the most thing that they always do to make the positive environment in family is recognize children visual art talent and keep up the good interaction with children. 2) Environment in classroom, The result after interview students expose that students have group of friends who are interested in art the same as them and they usually exchange their opinions about art work. From the answer of art teachers in questionnaire show that during a class, the most thing that art teacher usually do to stimulate and encourage students to practice art work is building the positive environment. In addition, teachers always display students art works at the boards , wall and art gallery in order to build a positive environment within school.
