A comparison of achievement in science process skill of prathom suksa six students learned by the project method and method designed by the Ministry of Education
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to compare the achievement in science process skill and interest of Prathom Suksa Six students learned by the Project Method and Method designed by the Ministry of Education. The samples were 40 students of Prathom Suksa six in the academic year 1984 from the Bankok Metropolitan Administration. The students were devided into experimental group and controlled group with equal in size and The Science knowledge Achievement. There were 20 students in each group. The strumpets were Project Method lesson plans, Pratho Suksa six Science Knowledge test, Science Process Skill test and Science Interest test. Both sample groups were pretested by Science Process Skill test and Science Interest test. The researcher herself had taught the experimental group with the Project Method Lesson plans, while as the controlled group was taught by their own teacher with the Method by the Ministry of Education. After learning through the contests and limited time, the students were post tested with the two tests. Scores were canalized by/mean, standard deviation and t-test. Results: 1.Before teaching, the achievement in Science process Skill and Science Interest between the experimental and the controlled group was not significantly different at the .05 level. 2. After teaching, the achievement in Science process Skill between two groups was not significantly different at the .05 level. 3. After teaching, the Science Interest between two groups was not significantly different at the .05 level. 4. The achievement and after Science Process Skill of the experimental group before and after learning by using Project Method was significantly different at the .05 level. 5. The Science Interest of the experimental group before and after learning by using the Project Method was significantly different at the .05 level.
