Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to compare the immediate recall on prose with and without imagery from listening and reading of Prathom Suksa five students. The subjects were 92 students from three schools in Sathingpra district Songkhla Province. They were tested on Thai usage by means of Thai Usage Achievement Test. They were at the same achievement level. Then, the subjects were randomly assigned to four experimental groups: imagery listening; without imagery listening, with imagery reading; and without imagery reading. The listening groups were given a one¬-paragraph prose by listening the narration from cassette tape recorder. The reading groups were assigned to read a one-paragraph prose from an instructional sheet. Each, group was allowed two minutes to study their material, one minutl to rest; and twenty minutes to complete the 22 -items postest. The score were analyzed by means of Two-Way Analysis of Variance. The pairwise test was conducted using Tukey (a) method. The results of this study were. 1. The immediate recall on prose learning of Prathom Suksa five students with and without imagery from reading was higher than from listening. 2. The immediate recall on prose learning of Prathom Suksa five students with imagery from reading was higher than imagery from listening.
