Abstract:
Purpose : The Objectives of study are as follows. 1. To study the opinions of administrators, instructors and the cadets in CRMA, Royal NAVAL Academy and the Royal Thai Airforce Academy toward teaching evaluation. 2. To survey the needs of evaluation on instructors' teaching by the administrators, instructors and cadets in the three Armed Forces Academies. 3. To consider and seek for the most appropriate approach (method) in evaluation of teaching in the three Armed Forces Academies. Methodology The population of this study consisted of 27 administrators 155 instructors and 570 cadets from three academies in academic year 1984. The questionnaires were constructed and collected by the researcher. The data were analyzed by using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS). System showed frequency, percent, arithmatic mean, standard deviation, F-Test and the test of defference of each pair by Scheffe' 's method. Findings The findings of the study can be summed up as follows 1. Most of the administrators, instructors and cadets indicated preference for establishing some evaluation process. Evaluation should be done at the end of the first semester in order to adjust and inprove teaching methods and subsequently evaluated by the cadets. 2. Needs for evaluation : The administrators and the instructors were hippy to be evaluated and wished to have the instructors directly informed of the results so asto make certain improvements. 3. Opinions on the suitable in bringing up the evaluation format to use, administrators, instructors and cadets agreed with each item of the questionnaires and some agreed most with some items. From the comparative test conducted significant differences were found in some items among three academies but they were at the same levels of being agreeable and the most agreeable. The teaching behavior was devided into 5 aspects and the items of the questionnaire in each aspect that were the most agreeable as follows : A. Objectives and subject matter were instructors' prior study of curriculum, instructors' clearly understand the course objectives, instructors' motivation for students' initiative, extension of instructors' knowledge on the subject matter, the subject matter must be coherent and easy to apply. B. Instructors' personality were initiative, punctuality, accepted behavior, proper appearance, impartial, resonable expectation, adequate vocal projection. C. Teaching techniques were readiness of teaching, adequate preparation of subject matter, good conclusion on subject matter, invitation of specialist in particular field, use of advanced technology in teaching, activities of interest. D. Evaluation were proper coverage of subject matter, impartial of evaluation and assessment, standardization of evaluation. E. Non - teaching task were high responsibility, benefitial suggestion, respectfulness and acceptance of colleague's opinions, academic cooperation.
