Abstract:
Purposes : The purposes of this study were 1) to construct Instructional Packages on Transportation and Communication in Community for Prathom Suksa Two, based on the Curriculum for Elementary Education B.E. 2521 and 2) to find the effectiveness of the whole packang by finding the significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores and studying the teachers opinions upon using the Packages. Procedures : First, the researcher studied the process of Package Construction and the Curriculum which includes, lesson plans, text-books, and teachers manuals. Then, the topics of Transportation and Communication in Community was chosen for package construction. After that, the achievement test was constructed and tried-out respectively. The reliability of the test yielded at .71. The researcher also constructed a questionnaire for evaluating the package. This questionnaire was in the form of rating scale ranging from 1-5. The Packages were tried out first with two teacher for the purpose of package improvement. Then they were tried out again with 6 teachers and 6 classes of Prathom Suksa Two students. The questionnaire was also usedwith 20 teachers : 2 teachers from the first try-out, 6 teachers from the second try-out, and 12 experienced elementary teachers who never used these Packages before. The Data was then collected and analyzed by using t-test, Mean and Standard Deviation. Findings : 1. The pre-test and post-test scores of every group of students in this study yielded a significant difference at the .01 level. This somehow indicated that the Package constructed could be used effectively with the students. 2. From the five point scale, the ratings from 20 teachers ranged between 4.42-4.62. When using Best criteria, the packages criteria, the packages constructed were at the most suitable level. Teachers opinions upon using the packages had the Mean at 4.67. This indicated that the level of teachers satisfaction in using the packages was very high.
