Abstract:
This study is a documentary research conducted by quantitative content analysis to survey the status of group communication research in Thailand by analyzing theses for Master's Degree from 16 universities published during 2519 - 2551. The findings are as follow:89 theses in group communication is found, and are studied in the field of psychology the most.Contexts of group communication which are mostly studied are educational 52% and medical/public health 11 % respectively.Main topics which are mostly studied are the use of group process 77.3%, and group behavior 6.1% respectively.Theoretical concepts of group communication which are mostly used are Field Theory 8.6% , Group Personality Theory and Communication Network Theory 2.6%,and Theory of Group Achievement 2.0% Data-collection methods which are mostly used are observation 17.7% and experimental study by setting up group activities and group interaction 12.3 % respectively.The major findings of studies are the findings about the roles and influences of group, especially the finding that groups can contribute more effective outcomes than individuals and the finding about group formation, especially the finding that the procedure of group formation.Problems and limitations which are mostly found are data collection problems 25.0%, especially time limit, and sampling problems25.0% especially too small-size samples
