Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine efficiencies of 5 different Ranked Set Sampling methods for estimating the population mean and median compared to Simple Random Sampling (SRS) where errors in ranking exist. The 5 methods are Ranked Set Sampling (RSS), Extreme Ranked Set Sampling (ERSS), Median Ranked Set Sampling (MRSS), Balanced Group Ranked Set Sampling (BGRSS) and Two-Stage Balanced Groups Ranked Set Sampling (TSBGRSS). For symmetric and asymmetric distributions considered in this study. In order to obtain comparative efficiencies, Mean Square Error (MSE) is applied.
