Abstract:
This Retrospective study aims to indicate health belief and factors effected to antiretroviral resistance among people living with HIV/AIDS at Niranam Clinic Phayao Hospital, Phayao province. Two hundred and twenty-five respondents were purposive sampling, those consisted of 30 patients with antiretroviral resistance regimen and 195 patients with non-antiretroviral resistance regimen. Data were collected during 1st29th February, 2012 by using the questionnaire which and reliability were 0.69. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics and Logistic regression. The results shown that samples believe perceived benefits and perceived barrier of health belief were the most level ( x =4.44, S.D.=0.54; x =3.65, S.D.=1.25). The result identified three independent variables that significantly effected on the antiretroviral resistance among people living with HIV/AIDS. They are experience of stopped antiretroviral is significantly hazard to antiretroviral resistance (odds ratio=.065, 95% CI .014-.299), adherence level (odds ratio=.077, 95% CI .020-.298) and condom used during sexual intercourse (odds ratio =11.275, 95% CI 2.54349.998). The result of this study can be most beneficial utilized for planning and counseling about service among people living with HIV/AIDS in Phayao Hospital
