A study of factors affecting the teachers and staff in the implementation of the quality control process of the secondary schools under the supervision of the secondary education service area office 14
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to examine the level of participation of the teachers and staff in implementing the quality control process; 2) to study the factors affecting their participation, and to look for problems and propose some suggestions for improving the teachers and staffs participation. The sample subjects consisted of 297 teachers and staff. Questionnaires were used to collect the data for this study. The data was then analyzed and shown as frequency, percentages, means, S.D., Simple Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the analysis were as follows: 1) The level of participation of the teachers and staff in implementing the quality control process as a whole was found to be high. When considering each area of participation, the following areas were found to be very high: planning and implementing the quality control process; 2) It was revealed that the factors which were found significant for this process included knowledge of the quality control system, leadership of the school administrators, and gender; 3) The problems occurred from the implementation of the quality control system in the schools were that most of the personnel in the schools lacked knowledge and understanding about the quality control system, and the information collection system was inefficient. Suggestions included making a quality control system as a part of the school system as well as adjusting the school administration system to be suitable for the implementation of the quality control process.
