Abstract:
The main purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of WebQuestbased
online instructions on learners achievement and their interaction in learning the
Educational Photography Course at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, North
Bangkok. The samples were composed of 21 undergraduated students from 1 out of 4
sections. They were randomized purposively from the population of 80 students who
registered to learn the Educational Photography Course in the second semester of the
academic year 2005. This study was an experimental research using One Group
Pretest-Posttest Design. The instruments used were WebQuest-based online instructions
on the Educational Photography, an achievement test, a set of questionaires on learners
interaction patterns, and learners attitudes towards WebQuest-based online instructions
scales. It was found that, on average, the gained score of the learners acheivement from
pretest and posttest was increased significantly (p=0.01). The interaction of the learners
fell into two out of five cooperative patterns, named Individual Accountability / Personal
Responsibility and Promotive 'face to face' Interaction. Out of 100%, 50% of the students
fell in the former group which was moderate, and 35.95% of them fell in the latter group
which was somewhat low. Besides, it was found that 73.16% of the students had positive
attitudes towards the Webquest-Based Online Instructions at a rather high level.
