Abstract:
The aim of this study were to study self-development needs of supporting staffs in University of Phayao and to compare self-development needs of supporting staffs in each division of University of Phayao. There are 2 divisions which are administration division and academic division. The sample group of this study was 227 supporting staffs in University of Phayao of the academic year 2011. The size of the sample group was determined according to Krejcie and Morgans table. The instrument for collecting data was a set of rating scale questionnaires which divided into 3 parts: Part I Background Information; Part II Opinion on self-development needs of supporting staffs-standard deviation, mean, percentage and Z-test with the statistically significant at the 0.05 were used for data analysis and Part III Suggestions. The finding of the study revealed that the overall needs for self-development of supporting staffs in University of Phayao was at a high level (x̄ =4.46). Needs were ranked from high to low level as followed Training (x̄ = 4.51), Technology (x̄ =4.50) Post-Grad (x̄ =4.49), Self-study (x̄ =4.48) and Development of working skills (x̄ =4.31) Self-development, development of working skills, training and technology were no statistically significant at 0.05 whereas post-grad and self-study were statistically significant at 0.05 "
