Abstract:
Nowadays, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been developed and used in construction industry for improving electronic information management efficiency, reducing reworking and reduce error of information exchange. The principle of BIM is 3D modeling that contains project related information. However, this approach requires understanding guideline of working process, benefits and barriers of using its. This research collected data from case study to descriptive analyze about stage and pattern of BIM implementation in construction organizations and to comparative analyze about benefit perception and identify barrier of this concept using in case study. The study found that current stage of BIM implementation is minimum BIM and case study has many barriers that can be categorized into 4 groups. However the study found many aspects of benefits from this approach as well. In addition, this research has comparative analysis of BIM implementation approach with general approach and study complexity of working process, duration of working, cost of working and quality of quantity take off information. Besides, this research proposes estimate supporting system to reduce the mistake of the quantity information. The study found that BIM approach has more complex process but less duration of working and more quantity take off quality. Therefore, the future research should be study BIM applying in detail to encourage arising concrete and right way of BIM using direction because this approach will have a major role in construction industry in the future.
