Abstract:
Currently, the internet affects almost everybodys social and business lifestyle, such as
e-mail, e-banking, stocks and so on. Internet users have increased over the past few years, and
behavior has also changed which now concentrates on privacy. At the moment, internet users are
continually at risk from attacks over the internet. These attacks mainly focus on personal data
which is protected by a password.
The purpose of this research was to explore the behavior of Thai Internet users at the age
of 15-59 related to password selection. The participants were studied and statistical information
was collected. The analysis of the data included frequency, percentage, mean and standard
deviation via software package SPSS.
The three key areas concentrated on were information, behavior, and attitudes. Results
showed that the majority of internet users are at risk as behavior to secure password selection
is neglected. In conclusion, all internet users should be encouraged to know the importance of
password selection and the dangers of lost personal data.
