Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to study the organizational loyalty of employees,
leadership style and leadership competencies, 2) to compare the organizational loyalty of
employees classified by personal characteristics, 3) to examine the relationship among leadership
style, leadership competencies and organizational loyalty of employees and 4) to consider which
variables could predict the organizational loyalty of employees. The data were collected from 362
employees working in CAT Telecom Public Co.,Ltd. Head office, Bangkok. The questionnaires
were measured three variables including leadership style, leadership competencies and
organizational loyalty. The Cronbach alpha coefficients were .966, .985 and .853 respectively.
The results were as follows:
1. The organizational loyalty of employees in CAT Telecom Public Co.,Ltd. were at the
high level. The employees perceived consultative leadership style. The employees perceived
relationship competencies, managerial competencies and leadership competencies at moderate
level.
2. The employees with different age, educational background and work experience had
statistically significant difference toward organizational loyalty at .05 level. The employees with
different sex and marital status had no difference on the organizational loyalty.
3. There was a statistically significant relationship between leadership style and
organizational loyalty at .05 level.
4. Relationship, managerial and leadership competencies and significant positive
relationship with the organizational loyalty at .01 level.
5. Leadership competencies and work experience could predict the organizational loyalty
of employees at .001 level. The standardized multiple regression prediction equation was as
follows:
Organizational loyalty = .501 (Leadership competencies) + .284 (Work experience)
