conducted among 385 factory workers at Suranaree industrial zone. Data was collected by
questionnaire divided into three parts, consisting of personal characteristics, alcohol drinking
behaviors, and absenteeism and work tardiness, and analyzed by the statistics: frequency,
percentage, minimum, maximum, mean, standard deviation, Pearsons product moment
correlation Coefficient and One Way Multivariate Analysis of Variance: (MANNOVA). The
results of this thesis were as follows: 1) In 3 last months, workers absenteeism mean was 1.3
time and 58.73% of workers had not work tardiness. 2) The results showed that absenteeism and
work tardiness were positively correlated (r = .560) at a significant level of .01. 3) Inequality in
income, education reflected the different level of absenteeism at a significant level of .01.
Meanwhile, factors such as disparity of income, type of employment, education, number of
children affected work tardiness at a significant level of .01. 4) In addition, there were differences
in the level of absenteeism and work tardiness for workers who drank alcohol and workers who
did not consume alcohol at a significant level of .01. Disparities in alcohol consumption
behaviors, the duration of drinking, degree of alcohol, drinking frequency per month, intoxication
frequency per month, place of drinking, members who join drinking, drinking causes or occasion
reflected absenteeism at a significant level of .01. Furthermore, the difference of the duration of
drinking, the degree of alcohol, drinking frequency, intoxication frequency, places of drinking,
persons who join drinking, drinking causes or occasion reflected the different level of work
tardiness at a significant level of .01.
