Abstract:
The objective of this master project was to prioritize factors for regular maintenance
decision of rural roads in Nonthaburi Province by means of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).
The researcher made a paired comparison of data to stipulate weight of each main factor and
weight of each alternative. In this study, data used in analysis comprised of data derived from
interviewing five participants who made decision on maintenance of the rural highway such as
Director of Rural Road Office, Head of Academic Department, Head of Maintenance Department,
Head of Mechanical Department, and Maintenance Supervisor. In addition, regular maintenance
data of five routes in Nonthaburi Province were used as a parametric study.
According to the participants who made decision on maintenance prioritized main factors
the case study results were showed as follows; complaint by 31%, damage by 27%, international
roughness index and rural road condition index by 11%, community density by 8%, traffic by 7%,
and important places of the routes by 5%. The five routes were prioritize using the factor and
after comparison with rest decision made, it was found that sometimes decision were not performed
by the most important factor but it depended on special occurrence such as festival period.
