The study of learning achievement with 4P model teaching method in sufficiency economy unit of social study , religion , and culture subject of prathomsuksa 2 students
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to compare learning achievement in sufficiency economy unit of social study, religion ,and culture subject of Prathomsuksa 2 students before and after studying using 4P model teaching method , 2) to compare the level of achievement of students taught by 4P model teaching method and conventional methods , 3) to study desired characters of students resulting the 4P model teaching method , and 4) to study students satisfaction toward the 4P model teaching method. The samples of this research were students in Pratomsuksa 2 of Anubaan Phuket school selected 2 classrooms by mean of purposive sampling, and divided into two groups by mean of simple random sampling, a control group and an experimental group. The research instruments consisted of the followings: 1) 4 lesson plans developed by a researcher on sufficiency economy using 4P model teaching method : Preparation, Perception, Power, and Presentation , 2) 30 items of achievement test , 3) observation form of students desired characters ,and 4) a satisfactory questionnaire. The data were analyzed by utilizing t test, means, and ANCOVA. The findings revealed that : 1)learning achievement in sufficiency economy unit of social study, religion ,and culture subject of Prathomsuksa 2 students taught by 4P model teaching method after studying was higher significantly at the 0.1 level, 2) learning achievement of students taught by 4P model teaching method was higher than those taught by conventional methods at the .01 level of significance , 3) the desired characters of students at high level in paying attention to learn , living sufficiently, engrossing to work, and having public minds , and 4) students satisfaction toward the 4P model teaching method was at high level. The results of using lesson plans of 4P model teaching method could be concluded that : 1) teachers should prepare readiness of students in basic contents or theory before teaching because the students could easily understand contents and composition of sufficiency economy, 2) field trips and learning by doing could encourage critical thinking in conducting self- knowledge via offering ways of inventing works and searching information from various sources , and 3) students should be encouraged to conduct works with pride and interest and present them in VCD or exhibition.
