Abstract:
his research aimed to analyze the external quality assessment reports in vocational educational institute. The data was gathered from 674 institutes assessment reports assessed in the second round (during B.E. 2006-2010). There are four steps in the research: (1) Constructing a model and using text mining techniques to classify unstructured data; there are 5,086 strengths 5,623 weaknesses. (2) Analyzing the relation of attributes in vocational education institutes and external quality assessment with association rule mining. (3) Analyzing investigating an appropriateness of indicators in external assessment via Chi-Square, Information Gain and Mean Reciprocal Rank. (4) Designing and developing the Analysis System of External Quality Assessment Reports by using data warehouse and OLAP (On-line Analytical Processing).
The results showed that: (1) The classification via the Two Level Classification Model by using SVM (Support Vector Machines) yielded high performance. The F-measure of the classification of strength and weakness are 84.30% and 89.30%, and they are higher than the Single Level Classification Model which are equal to 74.30% and 82.60%, respectively. (2) The analysis showed that the association rules between attributes in vocational education institutes and external quality assessment is one hundred and eighty five rules for certification of the standards and one rule for non certification of the standards. (3) The most appropriateness indicators for the external quality assessment were academic services for the social community and effectiveness of internal quality assurance. (4) The developed Analysis System of External Quality Assessment Reports is able to classify the strengths and weaknesses automatically and accurately. The system could be used as the filters of the important data and analyze the data based on users requirements. The information derived from the system is useful for quality development of the vocational education institutes and development of standards, indicators and factors in external quality assessment. In quality assessment of the Analysis System of External Quality Assessment Reports by the experts, the highest level is at X̅ = 4.78, S.D. = 0.30 and in the users satisfaction with the system, the highest level is at X̅ = 4.82, S.D. = 0.13.
