Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study and to compare the learning styles of graduate diploma students in teaching profession at Princess of Naradhiwas University. The students were classified by sex, academic years , and program of study
The sample consisted of 222 graduate diploma students in teaching profession during the 2008-2009 academic years at Princess of Naradhiwas University. The sample size was determined by using a
Taro Yamanes formular with the significant level of 0.05 and five percent error value , stratified random sampling. The student learning styles Questionnaires
developer by Grasha and Reichmann with reliability coefficient at 0.89 was used. Chi-square was used analyze by statistical program
The findings of this research was as follows:
1. The majority of respondents ( 146 students, 65.8 percent ) chose participatory learning style followed by dependent learning style ( 34 students, 15.3 percent ),independent learning style ( 25 students,
11.3 percent ), collaborative learning style (12 students, 5.4 percent), competitive learning style
( 3 students, 1.4 percent ), and avoidance learning style ( 2 students, 0.9 percent )
2. The learning style of graduate diploma students in teaching profession
classificated by sex , academic year and program of study were not significantly different.
