The Comparision of Learning Achievement in Mathematics Problem Solving on Ratio and Percentage using STAD Technique and the Conventional Instruction in the Level 3 Students of Bannakhanhukprachanusorn School Nongbuadaeng District Chaiyaphum Province.
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to : 1) compare the learning achievement in mathematics problem solving on the ratio and percentage of the level 3 students between using STAD technique and the conventional instruction and 2) study the opinion of the students level 3 after studying problem solving of mathematics using STAD technique. The subject were Mathayomsuksa 2 students attending Bannakhanhakprachanusorn School, Nongbuadaeng District, Chaiyaphum Province. The subject were 50 students in the first semester of 2007 academic year, selected by using a simple random sampling technique and they were randomly assigned into two group : experimental group with 25 students and control group with 25 students. The instruments used for this research were 4 lesson plans for STAD technique and the conventional instruction, 4 plans each ; the achievement test with a reliability of 0.84 ; the questionnaire. The statistics used for analyzing data were mean, standard deviation, and t-Test. The result showed that,
1. The learning achievement in mathematics problem solving on ratio and percentage using STAD technique of the students level 3 higher than the conventional instruction at the 0.01 level of significance.
2. The results of the level 3 students opinions in mathematics problem solving using STAD technique in three parts : the students showed high positive opinions toward the lesson, the student team learning and the self-esteem.
