The Comparative Study on Learning Achievement and The Opinion in Thai Language Reading by Using the Higher Level Directed Reading Thinking Technique for the Fourth Level Students of Nongbuadaeng Wittaya School, Nongbuadaeng, Chaiyaphum.
Abstract:
This research aimed 1) to construct the lesson plans for teaching Thai critical reading by using the higher level directed reading and thinking technique for the fourth level students in Nongbuadaeng Wittaya School, Nongbuadaeng, Chaiyaphum, 2) to compare students learning achievement on Thai critical reading using the higher level directed reading and thinking technique with teachers manual teaching, and 3) to compare students opinions toward the higher level directed reading and thinking technique and teachers manual teaching. The experimental research was used. The sample groups were 71 M. 5 students in Academic Year 1/2007. The research instruments were the five lesson plans, the learning achievement test, and the questionnaire.
The results revealed that :
1. The lesson plans construction on teaching Thai critical reading using the higher level directed reading and thinking for the fourth level students in Nongbuadaeng Wittaya School which had 9 compositions ; 1) the topics, 2) the main concept, 3) the learning standard, 4) the expected learning outcome, 5) the learning outlines, 6) the instructional activities, 7) the instructional media, 8) the evaluation, and 9) the teaching report forms, were examined good in quality by specialists.
2. The M. 5 students learning achievements in Nongbuadaeng Wittaya School who were taught by using the higher level directed reading and thinking technique had higher learning achievements than those who were taught by using teachers manual teaching at the 0.05 level of significance. The percentage of passing was 61.00
3. The M. 5 students opinions from the teaching by using the higher level directed reading and thinking technique for the fourth level students in Nongbuadaeng Wittaya School and from using teachers manual teaching were not different at the 0.05 level of significance.
