Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study the music school management and
expectation of the students by carrying out a case study at Siamkolkarn Music School,
The Mall, Ngamwongwan. Results of the study would be applicable to other courses
in the school in order to make them more effective.
The target group of the study was 160 students who took music courses at
Siamkolkarn Music School, The Mall, Ngamwongwan. A questionnaire created by
the researcher was used. The questionnaire was divided into 3 parts. The first part
contained questions about personal data. The second part contained questions about
the expectations of the music course and the music school management. The data was
analyzed by finding the frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The last
part of the questionnaire was open-ended for comments and suggestions.
The study found that expectations for development were high - the average
was 2.67 out of 4 (S.D. 0.67). Expectations for musical ability were high - the
average was 2.54 (S.D. 0.74). Expectations for the music school management were
high - the average was 2.65 (S.D. 0.55). The average of expectation score for
assessment was 2.73 (S.D. 0.80). The average of expectation score for service was
2.91(S.D. 0.78). The average of expectation score for higher education was 2.79 (S.D.
0.85). Students expectations for the music course and the music school management
were high with a significance of 0.05.
