Abstract: The objectives of this research were to study patterns and find a way to prevent online victimization. The sample group consisted of 400 respondents. This survey research used online questionnaire as a tool to collect data from internet users via online chat by snowball sampling. Data were analyzed and evaluated by using the Statistical package for the Social Sciences. Statistics applied in this research were percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, logistic regression and analysis of variance. 54.3% of respondents were male and 45.8% were female. The majority were students (56.0%) and company officers (22.8%). Most lived with their parents (46.3%), and had good relationships in their families (86.8%). From the results, the samples were classified into two types. First were those at risk of online victimization such as samples who made new friends and online dating. Most of these used chat room and internet relay chat (IRC). Second were those who enjoyed talking with friends and sharing information. Most of these used chat with instant messaging (IM) and webboard. In addition, it was found that respondents who had a long period of chat time also were subject to more harassment with vulgar language and were attacked with viruses and worms. Moreover, respondents who had many friends on online chats were sexually harassed more often and were deceived into meeting strangers. The respondents who chatted in the dating room were nearly four times more likely to have been sexually harassed than the respondents who chatted in the general room. Recommendations for this study are as follows: first, parents should monitor their children in their use of the internet; second, parents have to learn about chatting together in order to control their children; third, related organizations should create manual web pages for chatting the right way which indicate the method, the safety of chatting services, dangers and protection for participants. Chatting services (servers) should create ways to identify users such as using the number of their identity card as a user name for ease of examination. In addition, they should not have a sexual chat room, and they should set antivirus programs for safety in data transfer; these rules should be enforced by law. Finally, users should use creativity in chatting and refuse to share personal information and also not meet with strangers.

Abstract: การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงรูปแบบการตกเป็นเหยื่อจากการถูกคุกคามทาง อินเทอร์เน็ตรวมไปถึงหาวิธีการป้องกันแก้ไขปัญหาดังกล่าว ซึ่งได้ทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม ออนไลน์กับกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้โปรแกรมการสนทนาทางอินเทอร์เน็ตจำนวน 400 คนโดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มแบบลูกโซ่ (Snowball sampling) ข้อมูลที่ได้จากแบบสอบถามนำไปวิเคราะห์และประมวลผลโดยใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป (SPSS) สถิติที่ใช้ คือ ร้อยละ ความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์เชิงถดถอย และการ วิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวน พบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นเพศชาย 54.3% และเพศหญิง 45.8% เป็นนักเรียน/นักศึกษา 56.0% รองลงมาคือพนักงานบริษัท 22.8% จากผลการวิเคราะห์โดยใช้ Logistic Regression สามารถแบ่งกลุ่มผู้ใช้ โปรแกรมสนทนาทางอินเทอร์เน็ตออกได้เป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มแรกเป็นกลุ่มที่มีความเสี่ยงที่จะตกเป็นเหยื่อจาก การถูกคุกคามทางอินเตอร์เน็ตได้แก่ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีเป้าหมายในการหาเพื่อนใหม่และหาคู่ทางอินเทอร์เน็ตซึ่ง ส่วนใหญ่จะสนทนาในห้อง Chat room และใช้โปรแกรมประเภท Internet Relay Chat (IRC) กลุ่มที่สองคือกลุ่มที่ มีเป้าหมายในการพูดคุยกับเพื่อนและแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ทั่วไป ซึ่งจะมีความเสี่ยงในการตกเป็นเหยื่อน้อยกว่า โดย ส่วนใหญ่เป็นกลุ่มที่ใช้โปรแกรมประเภท Instant Messaging นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้เวลาในการ สนทนาทางอินเตอร์เน็ตมากจะมีโอกาสถูกคุกคามโดยการใช้คำหยาบ และถูกคุกคามจากไวรัสคอมพิวเตอร์ เพิ่มขึ้น กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีเพื่อนทางอินเทอร์เน็ตจำนวนมากมีโอกาสถูกคุกคามทางเพศโดยวาจาและถูกล่อลวงให้ ไปพบเจอมากกว่ากลุ่มที่มีเพื่อนน้อย กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่สนทนาทางอินเทอร์เน็ตในห้องแชทรูมมีโอกาสถูกคุกคาม ทางเพศโดยวาจามากกว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างที่สนทนาในห้องทั่วไปเกือบสี่เท่า คำแนะนำสำหรับงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้คือ ผู้ปกครองควรเอาใจใส่เด็กและเยาวชนในการใช้สื่อทาง อินเทอร์เน็ตรวมทั้งควรศึกษาวิธีการใช้สื่อที่เหมาะสมไปพร้อมๆ กับบุตรหลานเพื่อเป็นการสร้างจิตสำนึกที่ดีใน การบริโภคสื่อ นอกจากนี้ควรมีการจัดทำคู่มือออนไลน์สำหรับการใช้สื่ออินเทอร์เน็ตที่ถูกต้องโดยเฉพาะการใช้ โปรแกรมการสนทนาทางอินเทอร์เน็ต และควรมีการบังคับใช้ทางกฎหมายกับผู้ให้บริการ โดยเสนอให้นำเอา เลขที่บัตรประชาชนมาใช้เป็นชื่อผู้ใช้ (Username) เพื่อง่ายต่อการตรวจสอบข้อมูลผู้กระทำผิด รวมไปถึงควรมี มาตรการกำจัดห้องแชทรูมประเภทสื่อลามกและมีโปรแกรมป้องกันไวรัสที่เหมาะสม สำหรับผู้ใช้บริการควรใช้ โปรแกรมสนทนาทางอินเทอร์เน็ตอย่างสร้างสรรค์ พยามยามหลีกเลี่ยงการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลส่วนตัวและพบเจอ กับบุคคลแปลกหน้าทางอินเทอร์เน็ต
