Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics of the aerobic-dance leader with The Delphi technique. The information of the aerobic dance leader characteristics was obtained from a survey of eighteen experts who had at least 5 years experience in sport sciences or aerobic exercise. The study showed that the application and practical knowledge of anatomy and exercise physiology, exercise science, exercise biomechanics, exercise psychology, exercise injury prevention, and nutrition were important components of the aerobic-dance leader characteristics. The leadership of the aerobic-dance leader were considered in 19 topics. The most important topics were good personality, good dressing, selecting proper songs for exercise, steps of exercise, and safety position during exercise (median = 5 and inter-quartile range = 0). However, clearing signal, first aid, correcting abnormal movement, giving exercise information were most important with an inter-quartile range of 1. In addition, smiling and eye contact and saying good bye after the end of exercise sessions were important (median = 4.5 and inter-quartile = 1). Another leadership characteristic of the aerobic-dance exercise leader was promoting the benefit of exercise to the clients. In 1948, Stogdill suggested that, the relation and goal of supporters should be considered by a successful leader. For future study, a study should be developed to construct on aerobic dance exercise leader quality assessment"
