The development of the Thai mental health questionnaire computerized version
Abstract:
This research aimed to develop the Thai Mental Health Questionnaire (TMHQ)
computerized version. Internal consistency reliability, parallel reliability and level of
satisfaction after using the TMHQ computerized version were examined. This instrument
consists of 5 scales: Depression, Somatization, Anxiety, Psychotic and Social function. The
subjects testing and evaluating the TMHQ computerized version in this study were 140
students studying at Matthayomsuksa 5 (grade 11) of Watraikhingwittaya, Nakornpratom.
The result, revealed that the TMHQ computerized version has internal consistency
reliability range from 0.66 to 0.93 and the reliability of the TMHQ computerized version is
high at 0.95. The TMHQ computerized version has positive relationship with the TMHQ
paper and pencil version at high correlation (r = 0.92) significantly different at p<0.01.
Regarding the level of satisfaction, it was found that the subjects were most satisfyied with
the design of the entire presentation of computerized version and favor in computerized
version more than paper-and-pencil version.
The result suggest that the TMHQ computerized version should be efficient
and useful as a practical alternative instrument to detect mental health illness in Thai
people
