The participation of tambol administration organization councillor in drugs problem prevention : a case study of tambol administration organization councillor in Samuthprakarn province
Abstract:
A case study was conducted in Samuthprakarn province, Thailand. This research
used questionaires in order to collect from members of the Tambol Administration
Organization Councillor about drug problem prevention. The sample size was 264
people. Statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and
chi-square.
It was found that most respondents have middle level of participation in drug
problem prevention. Personal factors were related to the participation in drug problem
prevention except the following factors: gender, marital status, period of holding position
and being a members of an other organization. Social factors were also related to the
participation in drug problem prevention. Only the knowledge about drug was not related
to this participation.
From the study, the following solutions and recommendations are suggested. As
the members of the Tambol Administration Organization Councillor are familiar with
Samuthprakarn province, they should be supported in the role of prevention of drug
problems. Moreover, each related organization in Samuthprakarn should make haste to
support the education of drug related information, greater experienced as well as
participation in seminars will be effective methods to achieve drug problem prevention
