Abstract:
The search for novel fungal secondary metabolites is the subject of this M.Sc. thesis. Two research targets (fungi), BCC 5311 and BCC 2629, were selected based on data from the preliminary study. Chemical investigation of the marine mangrove fungus, Aigialus parvus BCC 5311, resulted in the isolation and structural determination of three new compounds, aigialospirol (111), compound 112 and aigialone (113), along with three known resorcylic macrolides. Four new enniatins L. (118), M1 (119a), M2 (119b) and N (120), the first enniatin analogs bearing a hydroxyl group on the side chain of the 2-hydroxycarboxylic acid residue, were isolated together with five known enniatins from the unidentified fungus BCC 2629."
