Abstract:
This research was intended to study the environmental problem awareness of student in Matayomsuksa6 in educational region 6. It also focused on comparing the awareness of student in Matayomsuksa 6 ineducational region 6 who were different in gender, father's occupation, mother's occupation, grade pointaverage (GPA), educational program and location of the school. The sampless were 375 students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6 in the academic year of 2000.The instrument used for conducting this research was the questionnaire about the awareness of environmentalProblem. The data obtained were collected in two parts. The first part was about general information of theStudents. The second part was the questionnaire about the awareness of environmental problems. The Problems. The problems were specifically in 4 areas of pollutions : water, air, noise and garbadge. TheQuestionnaire consisted of 40 items of rating scale type. The correlation coefficients between each item andThe total score were 0.66-0.89. The reliability of the questionnaire was 0.92. The data were analyzed byStatistical package for the SPSS for Windows and were subsequently analyzed by mean, standard deviation,t-test and One Way ANOVA. The research indicated that : 1. The students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6 had a high level in all areas of awareness ofenvironmental problems. 2. The students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6 who were different in gender, father's occupation, mother's occupation, gpa, educational program and location of the school had the awreness of environmental problems in the following items : 2.1 The different gender of the students in Matayomsuksa 6 educational region 6 had the statisticallysignificant difference in all areas of awareness of environmental problems at the level of 0.05. The male hada higher awareness than the female except the noise pollution area there was no difference. 2.2 The difference of father's occupation of the students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6in educational region 6 had no difference in all areas of awareness of environmental problems except thenoise pollution had the statistically significant difference at the level of 0.05 Students whose fathers weregovernment officials have higher awareness than those who were not. 2.3 The difference of mather's occupation of the students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6 had the statistically significant difference in all areas of awareness of environment problems at the levelof 0.05. Students whose mothers were government officials have higher awareness than those who were not. 2.4 The difference of student's GPA of the students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6 had no difference in all areas of awareness of environmental problems. 2.5 The difference of student's educational programs of the students in matayomsuksa 6 in educational region 6 had the statistically significant difference in all areas of awareness of environmentproblems at the level of 0.05. Students who studied in Science-Maths Program higher awareness thanthose who studied had English (Maths, -French, -Japaness) Program except the water pollution and airpollution area had no difference. 2.6 The difference of student's location of the students in Matayomsuksa 6 in educational region6 had the statistically significant difference in all areas of awareness of environment problems at the levelof 0.05. Students who lived in urban had higher awareness than those in the suburd.
