Abstract:
This research is a case study primarily aimed to analyze feasible that have an influence on making a decision for choosing the location of a new paper warehouse. Choices of location taken into consideration are 3 places : Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Sawan, and Chumphon Provinces. All of these 3 locations are quite different in the aspects of physical geography and locak economy. The research procedure is divided into 2 stages. Stage 1 is to investigate the feasible factors affecting decision-making on selecting the locations for a paper warehouse by surveying related studies and literature. Fourteen relevant factors are found. However, the first five priorities are : the relation between Distance and workload, land transportation by truck, drainage on the premises, proximity to customer or market, and infrastructure system. The weight factor method has been used for the analysis of each relevant factor by using a questionnaire asking for opinions from 30 experienced warehouse managers. Stage 2 is data processing by means of logistics methodology to analyze the suitability of location form the factors taken into consideration. Location Rating Factor, which is the method of consideration from the score level of each factor and each option, is employed for the analysis. The findings reveals that Nakhon Ratchasima Province is a suitable location for constructing a new paper warehouse of the company.
