Abstract:
The purposes of this research is to study the effects of optimal selection of freight distribution strategies for the electrical goods industry. This study simulate 4 distribution models. Model A which the Sample company is using at the present. This model has used 1 distribution center at the Bangkok to support all customers in Thailand. Model B has used 2 distribution centers: the Bangkok's distribution center is used to support the customers in Bangkok Area, and the factory's distritution center is using to support the customers in upcountry except the Bangkok Area, Model C has used 1 distribution center, that is the factory's distribution Center. Model D has used 5 distribution center which consist of the factory,s distribution center to support the customers within 400 kilometers from the factory's distribution center. The Bangkok's distribution Center will be used to support the customers in the Bangkok area. The Regional distribution centers consist of North's distribution Center, Northeast's distribution Center and South's distribution Center. The Regional distribution center will be used to support the customers within 400 kilometers from the factory's distribution center.Goods with the disttribution center Model D, transportation cost and rental warehouse cost is decreased from 12,912,029 THB per month to 10,718,856 THB per month. That is the sample company can reduce 2 million THB per month or 17% in transportation cost and rental warehourse.
