Abstract:
The randomized storage system management which is easy and convenient for operation is usually applied in the warehouse management of hot rolled coil steel. This research evaluated the class based storage policy classified by types of customer order; domestic, international and non order. Factors that affected the demand of hot rolled coil steel, and forecast of the demand for the storage location, were also studied. As the result of the study it was found that the class-based storage location policy brought a reduction in distance and travel time of overhead crane. Thus, it decreased warehouse cost and responded to the customer need in shortening loading time.
