Abstract:
In this work, a rapid and simple micellar electrokinetic chromatorgraphy with UV detector for simultanceous determination of nicotinamide, caffeine, vitaminB6, vitaminB2, vitaminB1, and vitamin C is described. The optimized conditions of separation were 10 mM borate buffer containing 25 mM SDS, pH9.0, 10 kV for separation voltage, 40 ํC for separation temperature, and 3 seconds for injection at 50 mbar. All analytes were detected at 220 nm except vitainc C was detected at 265 nm. Under these conditions, all analytes could be analyzed within 8 minutes. The limit of detection based on the signal-to-noise ratio 3 and the limit of quantification based on the signal-to-noise ratio 10 were in the range of 0.3 to 1.2 mg/L, and 1.5 to 3.5 mg/L, respectively. The calibration curves of analytes were from 5.0 to 30.0 mg/L with the correlation coefficient of better than 0.995. The percent relative standard deviations of peak area and migration time were less than 4.0, and 1.7, respectively. The method was directly applied to the determination of analytes in vitamin-enriched drinks without any other sample pre-treatment except filtration and dilution, and the assay results were satisfactory.
