Abstract:
This thesis was designed as experimental research. The purpose of the study was to compare knowledge and practice in older, diabetic adult patients. MOH LUM folk songs and lecture training were employed in this study. The sample consisted of sixty older, diabetic adult patients. The subjects were divided inti two group. The experimental group. The one served as the control group the other served as an experimental group. The experimental group used MOH LUM folk songs while the control group received training through a lecture method. The patients listened to MOH LUM folk songs for one week. A pre-test an a post-test were conducted on the seventh day og listening, and two weeks before and after listening. The researcher collected data using questionnaires. The analysis of data was done through an SPSS/PC+ program to establish the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation a t-test and repeated measures analysis of variance. The result of the study showed that the post-test scores of knowledge and practice about health care in the experimental group during the seventh day and two weeks after listening were better than before using MOH LUM folk songs at a .05 level of significance. Knowledge and practice scores in the experimental group collected during the seventh day and two weeks later were significant showing a .05 difference in the control group.
