Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to develop and find the efficiency of creative writing exercises for primary education grade 1 students 2) to compare the achievement of creative writing between pre - using and post - using creative writing exercises 3) to compare the writing achievement of the students with the criterion after practicing with creative writing exercises.
The sample was the first level, 34 primary education grade 1 students, taken during the second semester of the academic year 2005. There were 17 students from Wat Suan Umpawan School and 17 students from Wat Ratsattaram School. All schools were in Hunkha district, the Educational Service Area of Chainat. The sample was also selected with purposive sampling technique.
The research instruments were 1) Thai language - creative writing lesson plans 2) creative writing exercises and 3) a creative writing achievement test.
The results of the study were as follows :
1. The efficiency of using creative writing exercises for primary education grade 1 students was at 89.33/86.80, which was higher than 80/80 standard criterion.
2. The achievement of students in creative writing between pre - using and post - using creative writing exercises was statistically different at 0.01 level of significance.
3. The achievement of students in creative writing on post-learning was higher than the criterion at 0.01 level of significance.
