Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study and compare the problems and the attitude of the students, English teachers, and the students parents towards learning and teaching English using the Elementary Education Curriculum B.E. 2521 between the sample groups who are in the Primary Demonstration Schools of the Rajabhat Institutes in Bangkok and in other provinces; and to study the advice of both sample groups for developing the instructional efficiency. The first sample group for the study consisted of 390 grade 6 students; 90 lived in Bangkok, and 300 lived in other provinces. 74 questionnaires or 82.22 percents of those distributed in Bangkok and 268 questionnaires or 89.30 percents of those distributed in other provinces were received back. The second sample group consisted of 10 English teachers of both grade 5 and 6; 2 lived in Bangkok and lived in other provinces. All of the questionnaires were received back. And the third sample group consisted of 390 grade 6 students parents; 90 lived in Bangkok, and 300 lived in other provinces. 61 questionnaires or 67.78 percents of those distributed in Bangkok and 226 questionnaires or 75.33 percents of those distributed in other provinces were received. The data were statistically analyzed using the frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard divination and t-test for Independent Variable.
The findings of this research were as follows: 1) Both grade 6 students in Bangkok and in other provinces had problems concerning contents and learning teaching activities at low level. 2) The English teachers of both grade 5 and 6 who lived in Bangkok had problems concerning curriculum and materials, contents, learning-teaching activities and measurement and evaluation at high level, but the English teachers of both grade 5 and 6 who lived in other provinces had the same problems at the low level. 3) Grade 6 students parents who lived in Bangkok had the opinion of the problems about learning-teaching activities were at the low level but the grade 6 students parents who lived in other provinces had the opinion about the same problems at the high level.
