Abstract:
Objectives of this research were 1C to specify competency in information and communication technology of teachers teaching Thai language Education Group, cluster I, and 2) to examine competency in information and communication technology of these teachers teaching Thai language, Cluster I, with their aspects of knowledge and skill. Respondents of research questionnaires were composed of 274 teachers teaching Thai language Education Group, Cluster I, Sisaket Education Office Area 1. They were selected by simple random sampling from 243 schools, according to Krejcie and Morgans Formula.
Research tools were a form of document analysis and a form of questionnaire designed to survey 2 aspects of teachers competency in information and communication technology: knowledge competency and skill competency. Research results were concluded as follows.
In part 1, results analyzed from surveyed document for finding competency in information and communication technology of teachers were (1) knowledge competency which were composed of the fundamental of information and communication technology, competency of computer study, knowledge of other electronic equipments, internet, law and ethics in using information and communication technology, copyright of communication, competency in application of information and communication technology for teaching Thai language Education Group, Cluster I (2) skill competency consisted of the competency of computer using among the teachers, skill competency of other electronic equipments, competency on internet using, and competency in application of information and communication technology for teaching Thai language Education Group, Cluster I.
In part 2, results analyzed from surveyed document for finding competency in information and communication technology of the teachers revealed as follows. The competency in information and communication technology of the teachers was discovered that their Thai language, achieved an overall competency of knowledge competency and skill competency at the middle level ( ), and the overall competency of knowledge at the middle level ( ). Considering individual aspects, the researcher found that the highest level was the fundamental of information and communication technology ( ). The runner-up level was the competency in application of information and communication technology for teaching Thai language Education Group, Cluster I ( ). The lowest level was knowledge in internet using ( ). For skill on information and communication technology, it was indicated at the middle level ( ). The individual aspect of skill on application of information and communication technology for teaching Thai language, Cluster I Education Group was then found that the highest level was ( ). The runner-up level was the skill competency of other electronic equipments ( ), and the lowest point was the skill of internet using ( ).
