Abstract:
The purposes of this survey research were to 1) study level of opinions of teachers and administrators toward the support of child centered instruction in academic, budget, personnel and general administration aspects in basic schools in Sisaket province and 2) compare the opinions of teachers and administrations toward the support of child centered instruction in academic, budget personnel and general administration aspects according to positions, sizes of schools, program graduated, and responsible core groups of learning. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires with reliability or coefficient at 0.9422 and open ended questions for collecting suggestions and problems in the support of child- centered instruction and SPSS program for windows were used to analyze data. Statistics used in this study were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test : One- way ANOVA, Duncan New Multiple Rang Test and suggestion of the questionnaires part3 was analyzed by using content analysis.
The research results revealed that :
1. General status of questionnaire respondents of this research which was available through the use of Yamane table, were administrators and teachers in schools under Sisaket Office of Education Service. The samples were 387 persons (194 of teachers 50.10%), 193 administrators (49.90%), including 236 small sized schools (61.00%) and 151 big sized schools (39.00%).
2. The result of studying of teachers and administrators opinions was that their opinions toward the support of child- centered instruction as a whole were highly leveled (X= 3.76, S.D.=0.59). When considered all aspects respectively it was found that the academic, budget, personnel and general administration aspects were at high level (X = 3.92, 3.68, 3.74, 3.71, S.D.= 0.61, 0.69, 0.65, 0.66).
3. The results in comparing the teachers and administrators opinions toward the support of child- centered instruction classified by differences in positions, size of schools, care group of learning, and programs graduated was that different positions had different opinions, concerning the support of child- centered instruction classified in 4 aspects : academic, budget personnel and general administration with statistical significance at 0.05 and was not significantly different in personnel aspect. It was found that those in different sizes of schools and program graduated had opinions towasd child centered instruction (in all 4 aspects of academic, budget, different. Personnel, and general administration) were not significantly different.
