Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to 1) study transformational leadership 2) compare transformational leadership, classified according to personnels position and types and sizes of school, and 3) provide suggestions for the development in transformational leadership in Surin Educational Service Area Office 1. Samples used in this study were 181 directors and deputy directors (acting directors.) Data resources were determined form 3 places of 1) administrators 2) academic heads and 3) teachers, which was a total of 543 persons. A questionnaire was applied in data collecting and revealed a reliability of 0.98. Statistics used in analyzing were percentage, mean, standard deviation and hypothesis was test by One-Way Analysis of variance:ANOVA.
Results of the research were as follows:
1. An image of transformational leadership of administrators both when scrutinized as a whole and at each individual revealed at high level in all aspects, whose highest one was the aspects inspiration followed by the aspects of individual consideration, principle influence, and wisdom encouragement respectively.
2. The comparison result of the administrators transformational leadership yielded an image of the leadership recognition as a whole and in 4 of each individual aspects with a statistical significant difference of .05. The respondents who worked in schools of different types and sizes recognized the transformational leadership as a whole and in 4 of each individual aspects yielding no statistical significant difference of .05.
3. Important suggestions towards the development in transformational leadership of schools executives, were as follows
3.1 In idealized Influence, it was suggestions to work with plans, vision, be a good model for others and behave appropriately according to roles and functions.
3.2 In inspiration building, it was suggested to perform works potentially, skills and encourage good attitude and assign works to teachers according to their needs and ability.
3.3 In inspiration stimulation, it was encouraged to work team, do much in coordinating activities and consider the impact towards the society.
3.4 In individualized consideration it was suggested that every work was important, support be at wands, cusual work atmosphere be promoted and rights of everybody be considered.
