Abstract:
The research objectives were to study 1) development of a web-based database for economic fruits of the southern Thailand and 2) satisfaction of users both government and private sector with the presentation of economic fruits in the southern Thailand. A website presenting data on 10 economic fruits was designed. One hundred and twenty purposively selected samples including 30 lecturers and 30 students of Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen campus; 30 agronomists, and 30 company employees responded to questionnaires on the effectiveness of the designed website. The descriptive statistics were applied for analysis in terms of percentage, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation. The results revealed that users highly satisfied with the designed website in three aspects: a) design and format of the web pages of the website, b) content, and c) accessibility. In addition, the users highlysatisfied with the usefulness of the website and the overall presentation after accessing the website. There were suggestions especially on data detail, for example, on marketing, plant variety and agricultural data of four regions in Thailand.
