Abstract:
The purpose of this research were to investigate the state and problems of physical education activities in primary school under the primary education office. Changwat Surin and compare the opinion of school administrators, physical education teachers, and other teachers from 262 schools by using 786 questionnaires. The statistical procedure employed were percentage, mean ( X ), standard deviation ( S.D.) and one-way analysis of variance.
The finding revealed that physical education activities are primarily based on basic movement, such as running, rhythmic walking, leaping, and pulling. Physical education activities that need some equipment are kicking and throwing balls. Basic gymnastics, personal activities such as shot-distance racing, broad jumping and gymnastics, and team activities such as football, volleyball, relay race, and chairball. The teaching techniques are primary based on demonstration and group work of 4-6 students. The activities students like most should be funny and competitive.
The problems found in physical education activities management are the lack of followings : dudget for supporting extra activities, promoting training in the course concerned, study resources, teaching materials and equipment, indoor stadiums, dressing rooms, equipment maintaining, physical education teacher, student time for practicing skills, students use of knowledge in dairy lives, and students discipline. Moreover, the physical education teachers have overload with other jobs except teaching and the numbers of students in each class are too big.
The comparison on the opinions of school administrators, physical education teachers, and other teachers are significantly different at the level of .05 in four different aspects : physical education management in schools, equipment and places, personnel, and student revealed that the physical education teachers lack of knowledge in teaching techniques, creating teaching materials, and evaluation. The time schedules for physical education course are inappropriate and there are also the leg of study resource as wellas the lack of supervising. The physical education equipment is not appropriate for sizes and ages of student and the purchasing of the appropriate is always delayed. There is the lack of creating teaching materials and the outdoor-indoor stadiums are not significantly and inappropriate. The physical education teachers do not seek for knowledge sad are not responsible for their routine work enough. The teachers gave overloaded with classes and lack of morale and will in work performances. There are so many students with different levels of skills in physical education activities in each class and students are mostly not well healthy. Moreover the students have negative attitudes toward physical education teachers and not well-disciplined. The students do not use knowledge and skills from physical education classes in their dairy lives.
