Abstract: ประเทศไทยมีระบบเศรษฐกิจแบบเปิด การค้าระหว่างประเทศมีความสำคัญต่อระบบเศรษฐกิจของประเทศเป็นอย่างมาก ประเทศคู่ค้าที่สำคัญยิ่งของประเทศไทย ทั้งในด้านการส่งออก และนำเข้าคือประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาวัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษาลักษณะโดยทั่วไปของการค้าระหว่างประเทศไทยกับสหรัฐอเมริกาและศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีผลกระทบต่ออุปสงค์การส่งออกและการนำเข้าของไทยกับสหรัฐอเมริกา ทางด้านการส่งออกสินค้าที่เลือกศึกษาคือ กุ้งสดแช่แข็ง กุ้งกระป๋อง และฮาร์ดดิสก์ ทางด้านการนำเข้าได้แก่ แผงวงจรไฟฟ้า ไวนีลคลอไรต์ และตู้เย็นตู้แช่ โดยการสร้างแบบจำลองทางเศรษฐกิจ และกะประมาณค่าโดยวิธีกำลังสองน้อยที่สุดแบบธรรมดา (OLS) ใช้ข้อมูลรายไตรมาสระหว่าง พ.ศ.2538-2542ผลการศึกษาทางด้านการส่งออกที่ใช้วัตถุดิบภายในประเทศส่วนใหญ่ได้แก่ กุ้งสดแช่เย็นแช่แข็งและกุ้งกระป๋อง สินค้าทั้งสองชนิดนี้ยังได้รับสิทธิพิเศษทางยกเว้นภาษีนำเข้าของสหรัฐอเมริกา นอกจากนี้ไทยสามารถครองส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาดของสหรัฐอเมริกาได้เป็นอันดับ 1 สำหรับฮาร์ดดิสก์มีมูลค่าส่งออกไปยังสหรัฐอเมริกาสูงเช่นกัน แต่พบว่าวัตถุดิบส่วนใหญ่ของไทยจำเป็นต้องนำเข้าจากต่างประเทศ ทางด้านการนำเข้าแผงวงจรไฟฟ้าจากสหรัฐอเมริกามีมูลค่าสูงขึ้นเป็นลำดับ และสหรัฐอเมริกาสามารถครองส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาดอันดับ 1 ของไทย เช่นเดียวกับ ไวนิลคลอไรต์ และตู้เย็นตู้แช่ ปัจจัยที่มีผลกระทบต่ออุปสงค์การส่งออก คือราคาสินค้าส่งออกของสินค้าที่ปรับด้วยดัชนีราคาผู้บริโภคของสหรัฐอเมริกา และอัตราแลกเปลี่ยนของสหรัฐอเมริกาเทียบกับอัตราแลกเปลี่ยนของไทย นอกจากสองปัจจัยที่ยังขึ้นอยู่กับผลิตภัณฑ์มวลรวมภายในประเทศที่แท้จริงของสหรัฐอเมริกา ส่วนปัจจัยที่มีผลกระทบต่ออุปสงค์การนำเข้าคือ ราคาสินค้านำเข้าที่ด้วยดัชนีราคาสินค้าผู้บริโภคของไทย และอัตราแลกเปลี่ยนของสหรัฐอเมริกาเทียบกับอัตราแลกเปลี่ยนของไทย นอกจากสองปัจจัยนี้ ยังขึ้นอยู่กับผลิตภัณฑ์มวลรวมภายในประเทศที่แท้จริงของไทยรัฐบาลและหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องควรส่งเสริมให้มีการผลิตสินค้าทุนเพื่อทดแทนการนำเข้าเพื่อเป็นการลดการขาดดุลการค้าของประเทศไทย Thailand is an open economy. International trade is very important to the country's economy. Most important trading partner of Thailand in terms of export and import is the United States of America (USA).The objectives of the study had two folds. Firstly, the trade structure between Thailand and USA would be analyzed. Secondly, factors affecting export and import between Thailand and USA would be ascertained.The selected products for export were frozen shrimp, canned shrimp and hard disk. On the other hand, the selected products for import were electronic integrated circuits, vinyl chloride and refrigerators. Econometric models were estimates, using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) techniques during the period of 1995-1999 by quarters.In the export study found that frozen shrimp and canned shrimp were righted by the USA. They were ranked first in market share to the USA. For the value of hard disk export was also increased but most of raw materials of hard disk imported. In case of the import of Thai electronic integrates circuit from the USA had the increasing trend and ranked first among the Thai import products from the USA. This was the same as vinyl chloride and refrigerators. The factors affecting, the export demand were the real export price and comparing exchange rate of USA and Thailand. Furthemore, it also depended on the real GDP of USA. In the import study found that the value of electronic integrate circuits import had an increasing trend. The factor affecting the import demand were the real import price and comparing exchange rate of USA and Thailand. Moreover, its also depended on the real GDP of USA.The government and concern agencies should promote to produce the capital goods for import substitution and also reduced the Thai trade balance deficit.
