Effects of using nursing standsrd service program on patient's service satisfaction and waiting time at out-patient department, Muangsamut Poochao Samingprai hospital
Abstract:
The purposes of this quasi-experiment, one group pretest-posttest research were to compare patients satisfaction and patients perception of waiting time, before and after using nursing standard service program at out-patient department, Muangsamut Poochao Samingprai Hospital. Sixty patients were selected through purposive sampling. The patients were divided by matching technique into 3 groups, 2 groups for pretest and 1 group for posttest. The research instruments consisted of out patient nursing standard service program, observation check list for nursing practice according to out patient nursing standard service program, patient satisfaction questionnaires and patient perception of waiting time questionnaires. The instruments were tested by content validity. Reliability of patient satisfaction questionnaires and patient perception of waiting time questionnaires tested by Cronbach alpha coefficient were .96 and .81, respectively. Data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and t-Test. The major finding were as follows : 1. Patients satisfaction as a whole and each category, before and after using out patient nursing standard service program were significant difference at a level of .05. Patients satisfaction after using out patient nursing standard service program was higher than that before using out patient nursing standard service program. 2. Patients perception of the waiting time as a whole and each category before and after using out patient nursing standard service program were significant difference at a level of .05. After using out patient nursing standard service program, the patients perceived waiting time shorter than that of before using out patient nursing standard service program.
